What’s New with Virtual Events?

7 new platforms and services that could be a fit for your next digital experience.

It's a full-time job staying up to date with virtual meeting developments. Here are seven news briefs from suppliers ready to host or manage your event.

August 5 iStaging, an augmented and virtual reality solutions company, is jumping into the trade show market with the launch of Virtual Expo. Applying its experience in the real estate and retail sectors, the company’s new product creates virtual exhibitions and showrooms, where participants can sync their screen with an exhibitor to experience a real-time guided tour of a product or service and ask questions. 

August 4 Attendify has announced a new live-streaming service for virtual and hybrid events. The web-based service supports up to five speakers per session, up to 10,000 viewers per session, and unlimited simultaneous sessions. The platform offers live broadcasting, speaker or gallery views, real-time analytics networking, group chats, live polling, push notifications, and more.

August 4 EventGeek, originally designed to help marketers coordinate logistics for in-person events, relaunched under the new name Circa. The event management platform is now aimed at helping teams orchestrate virtual and hybrid events, and measure event outcomes.

July 27  Image Audiovisuals, a Denver-based audiovisual event services provider, launched a new Virtual Experience platform. An enhancement to its e-Attend technology, the new platform provides an online conference with a virtual lobby, auditorium, meeting rooms, hospitality suites, networking lounge, expo lobby, exhibit hall, and exhibitor booths. Among other features, the platform has sponsorship opportunities, attendee push notifications, and chat functions in each room.

July 1 AnyClip has launched a new version of its video-on-demand platform aimed at the meetings market. Called Luminous Watch for Events, the platform allows organizers to host event videos in their own domains, but in a searchable hub that also provides users with recommendations from the event’s library of content. In July, VentureBeat’s Transform 2020 virtual conference was the first event to use the tool.

June 26 A new online meeting platform called Underline launched for events in the technical, scientific, and academic market. The company can manage the content and production aspects of a virtual event but also has a digital repository of scientific, academic, and scholarly conference videos. Underline is working to enable researchers to cite lectures, share content, and search technical papers. Among the online conferences Underline is working with this summer are the American Association of Physics Teachers Summer Meeting and the 24th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence.

June 23 AIM Group International, which specializes in congresses and events, announced a new company AIM Communication, that will support companies and associations by leveraging new technologies. The focus will range from digital event strategy and production to social media and data analysis.
