Tax Hike Hotel room taxes in San Francisco jumped two percent on July 1 bringing it to 14 percent. The new monies will repay a lease revenue bond issued by the city to build a 300,000 square foot addition to the Moscone Convention Center Complex, bringing it to a total of 900,000 square feet of usable space. The city expects to have the addition finished by 2000.
