Le Meridien's new Art + Tech rooms launched in the United States in May with the opening of the 255-room Le Meridien Minneapolis. The Tech side of the concept calls for guest rooms with wall-mounted plasma-screen televisions and a wireless keyboard to surf the Web via the TV, as well as high-speed Internet access through ISDN lines. Etched-glass, back-lit headboards and mood lighting are among the rooms' high-design features. Le Meridien plans to transform some 5,000 of its 40,000 rooms
