Medical & Pharma Meetings Anesthesiology meeting uncertain in Katrina's wake Super User 1 | Sep 06, 2005 From the (Lee County) News Press: For the American Society of Anesthesiologists, planning to bring 16,000 to the New Orleans convention center in October, Hurricane Katrina‘s destruction means a conference planned for 12 years will have to be rearranged in less than two months. Considering that big meetings require airline tickets, hotel rooms and speakers -- not just a big room to meet in -- some conventions planned for New Orleans this fall and winter may have to be scrapped or broken into smaller pieces, said ASA‘s spokeswoman, Gina Steiner. “There are only a few places that can handle our size,” said Steiner, speaking from the society‘s Chicago headquarters. “We may have to scale things back.” 0 comments Hide comments Comment * Switch to plain text editorMore information about text formats Text format CommentsPlain text CommentsAllowed HTML tags:

Plain textNo HTML tags allowed.Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
