It's all alphabet soup to me

So the International Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus will become the Destination Marketing Association International in early August. Will the change from IACVB to DMAI really make a difference in people's understanding of what these folks do? If I were a member, I probably would have voted it down as not being inclusive of everything they do, all the services they provide to meeting planners, in particular.

Then again, if 74 percent of their members voted for it, who am I to judge? I hope it helps bring more recognition, and not just confusion to the few people who finally figured out what a CVB is.
