Businesses better on business travelers

According to this article in the New York Times, some companies are being a little nicer to their frequent fliers, letting them upgrade to business class, stay in nicer hotels, or even giving them time off to compensate for weekend travel.

For association meetings, this could be good news and bad news. While those who get airline and hotel perks probably will be more likely to come to an event, and be a little happier to be there, they also could be opting out of staying at your headquarters hotel if their company will pay for an upgrade. Just a thought.
