Astronauts and twin brothers Mark and Scott Kelly got a standing ovation for their touching, inspiring, and often funny message of the importance of rising to challenges, persevering through failure, and being willing to "do the hard thing."

ASAE's Sunday morning 5k fun run/walk drew a big crowd to experience the sunrise over Salt Lake City as they bounded over the finish line.

Changing of the Guard

The ASAE Board of Directors looked on as outgoing chairman Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, FACHE, CPA, CAE, APICS (left), passed the baton to ASAE's chairman-elect, Scott D. Wiley, FASAE, CAE, Ohio Society of CPAs.

A Classic Evening

The ASAE Foundation's The Classic fundraiser gala, held at the upscale Grand America Hotel, had a "Night with the Sundance Film Festival" theme this year, complete with paparazzi and a red carpet entrance for VIPs.

Six Degrees of Rock

Who knew actor Kevin Bacon was such a good musician? He and his brother have a rootsy rock band called, not surprisingly, the Bacon Brothers, that had attendees kicking off their Sunday shoes at The Classic.

Backstage cameras caught The Classic crowd bopping to the Bacon Brothers' beat at the ASAE Foundation fundraising gala.

Closing with Style and Substance

Closing keynote speaker Derreck Kayongo got a well-deserved standing ovation for his moving, funny, and inspirational story of growing up in Uganda, losing everything when Idi Amin took power, and eventually making it to the U.S., where he founded the Global Soap Project to reclaim soap from hotels to provide life-saving help to those in need.

Closing Evening Celebration

The closing night celebration was held at the Red Butte Garden and Arboretum, featuring the Wabash Mountains as a backdrop to the 21 acres of gardens, the amphitheater, and a lot of fun.

The lawn at the closing evening celebration was set with blankets and picnic baskets for ASAE attendees to enjoy as they listened to the opening band.

Everything Gets Hotter When the Sun Goes Down

The skies cooperated, providing a spectacular sunset to kick off the final evening celebration.

New Species in Arboretum: Neon Trees

Tyler Glenn, lead singer of Neon Trees, a pop band that hails from nearby Provo, Utah, wowed the crowd with an energy that got everyone up and dancing.

Doing Well by Doing Good

ASAE offered several pre- and post-con activities, including Salt Lake City tours and corporate social responsibility activities. Pictured: The crew who signed up to pack up 288 boxes of food for recipients of the Utah Food Bank’s senior services program during the post-con volunteer activity. Over the course of the conference, ASAE raised a total of $30,000 for the Utah Food Bank.
