Salamander Hotels & Resorts is adding two new hotels to its collection. The company plans to open The Henderson, a Salamander Beach and Spa Resort, in November. Located on the beach in Destin, Fla., adjacent to the 208-acre Henderson Beach nature preserve, the multifaceted resort will feature 10,000 square feet of event space, including a 5,400-square-foot ballroom, a junior ballroom, private boardrooms, and oceanfront function areas. It will feature 171 guestrooms and suites, a nature-inspired spa, and Gulf-to-table cuisine.

In New Orleans, a nine-story brick building that originally opened its doors in 1927 is being converted from the historic headquarters of the former New Orleans Public Service Inc., to the NOPSI Hotel. Located in the city’s central business district, the the 217-room, hotel, which also will include a conversion of the adjacent former Dryades Building, will offer a 4,000-square-foot meeting and event space that features a preserved 24-foot-high crane as part of its industrial-yet-elegant décor. The hotel is scheduled to open in spring 2017.
