TIA: Winter Travel Down More Than 8 Percent

According to the most recent figures released by the Travel Industry Association of America, travel will decrease 8.4 percent for the remainder of December and into January and February.

TIA's Winter 2001-2002 Travelometer reports that Americans are expected to take nearly 118 million person-trips this winter-down from last winter's 128 million figure. (A person-trip is defined as one person traveling more than 50 miles from home, one way.)
