For a 15-year-old building, the Santa Clara Convention Center keeps itself in pretty great shape. The latest bit of reconstructive surgery took place in May 2000, when the facility, in cooperation with its on-site vendor, Las Vegas — based SmartCity Networks, installed a new Lucent phone switch, all-new Cisco data switches and routers, and introduced two new services:
