2014 Incentive Merchandise/Gift Card Survey: The IRF Perspective

This year's research saw an increased focus on customer service goals and customized and experiential awards.

Since the start of the Great Recession, MeetingsNet and the Incentive Research Foundation have been tracking the trajectory of the incentive and gift card market. Unlike the incentive travel market, merchandise and gift cards have been remarkably consistent for half a decade now. After a relatively short period in 2008 and 2009 (which proved tough for all planners and suppliers), merchandise and gift card incentives rebounded in 2010 and have been building ever since.
