The return of the sellers market means tougher negotiations ahead

It sounds like a session at the Affordable Meetings Mid-America conference held in Chicago by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International tackled the attrition issue, according to this article on hotelinteractive.com. While more people are shaking loose for business travel--including meetings--hotels are taking a tougher stance in negotiations.

Both sides urged meeting planners, when negotiating deals, to consider that resorts have less flexibility to handle a shortfall in the number of guests originally planned than hotels in major urban centers, which are likely to replace lost business faster.

But that was one of the few points of agreement.

It's a good read, especially if you're feeling the pinch these days.
